Why Does My Macbook Pro Run Out Of Batteries So Quickly?
Hi, my dad bought me my macbook pro somewhere around june 2010 last year as a 'congrats on graduating 8th grade! ' present. i take very good care of this laptop because i want to last it until i finish until i finish high school. when i use this, i use the lowest brightness as possible (yet still be able to see the things i 'm working on), and i usually only keep one or two apps on. i also try to preserve my memory and delete any unneeded stuff and store my old assignments into a separate hard disk (i have around 234 gb left). i use this laptop almost everyday and i take it to school with me every single day. when i first got this laptop, i always charge it before i sleep so that when i take it to school tomorrow morning the charge would be 100%. i used to be able to use this laptop with a full charge and by the time i got home i 'd still have 30% left. soon it became 20%, then it became 10%. last week by the third period i had only 47% left! yet there 's 8 periods per day! that 's when i knew something was wrong with this laptop. i always use the same brightness level (very very low, unless it is plugged in to the charger) and i always leave one to two apps on maximum. when i charge it at night, there are no apps on. battery life isn 't the only problem either, i use safari and it tends to lag so much! also when i do my assignments on microsoft word, it lags too! it seems that my laptop lags so much nowadays. my two other friends bought her macbook pro 2 or 3 months earlier with me and they uses more apps than me and download a lot of things on their laptop and they have faulty battery issues and their macbooks lags a lot too. (they have around 130 gb left). i was hoping that an apple laptop might last me longer because all my laptops tend to last around 2 or 3 years, and i wanted a laptop that lasts for a good 5 years.what should i do? what 's wrong with my macbook pro? could this be a battery leak? i hope not, because i 've actually grown very fond of this laptop.*i meant my dad bought it for me on june 2011. heheh sorry my mistake.you know just because i 'm a teenager doesn 't mean i 'm ignorant. excuse me, but yes i do charge it as much as i can. i can 't charge it in school because the electrical plugs are too far for me to reach and it is located behind the teacher 's desk. do you really think my teacher would let me sit behind her desk and charge it while she 's teaching? i also always bring my charger just in case i 'm in the library (which is very rare since my school 's library pretty small). next time, don 't stereotype just because i 'm a teenager. i hope i have made it clear when i say "i take good care of my laptop " because i mean it. My Macbook 10.7.3 Logs Me Out And Freezes At Login Screen When Login Is Disabled?
I have a macbook pro, 10.7.3 os.around two months back i enabled the password login for the first time, however i was experiencing many issues with it. no matter what settings i made in energy saver, the mac would also put the computer to sleep even though i disabled it for both power adapter and battery. therefore, i disabled it around 2 weeks ago, but the problem has gotten even worse! even if password login is disabled, after a while of idle time, the mac still puts the computer to sleep and now when i wake it up, the login screen is frozen and all pixelated. it still requires a password and it still logs you out of all your problems, which is one of the reasons i stopped using password login.is it possible to somehow make mac not close and exit all problems when going to sleep? would it be psosible to have the mac not go to sleep at all?and why does mac still ask me to enter password when ive disabled it in the "security and privacy " settings. thanks! Hi, i recently purchased a macbook pro (dual boot with windows 7 ultimate) and i have a small problem with the ram. on the osx side i can go into the system info and see the full 8gb of installed ram, however, when i go into the windows side i find that i can only use something like 2gb of that ram. any idea why this is? could it be that i have the 32bit windows 7? the macbook that i have also has two gpus, one dedicated and one integrated. could this be causing an issue? i think i 'm running on the dedicated card, how do i change to the integrated card? to me this seems like the most likly reason i cannot use the full 8gb ram. any help would be greatly appreciated! Why Is My Macbook Pro Slow On The Internet Heeeelp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
Heyi used to own a sony vaio laptop (like a 1.8 dual core processor i think, 2gb ram, and 100gb hdd). it was really slow at running photoshop, premier pro etc, so i decided to upgrade to a macbook pro (2.4 processor, 2gb ram and 320gb hdd). its loads faster at running photoshop, etc. but the internet is really slow compared to my old laptop. it can 't seem to load pictures (like if i went onto google images and searched for something, none of the images will load, they will just be white squares.) if i went onto a video site none of the video preview square things will load. and some website won 't open, ill search for something and nothing will happen or will take a few minutes to load. anyone know why?i bought this macbook second hand, but is really good condition, hdd pretty much empty, running on lion. and my internet hasn 't gone slower because i just went onto my old laptop and the internet i still speedy :) just not on my macbook pro! :( i have used safari and firefox, and slow on both!any one know why? thanks (Read answers)

Problem With Wiping Macbook Pro's Hd Clean, Please Help?!?
I am trying to help a friend completely wipe out her macbook pro 's hard drive because she is selling it soon. she has the os x leopard dvd. she doesn 't remember if it was installed before we tried to do this or not, so that is my question... the first time we tried, we restarted the computer from the disk, but didn 't hold down c... problem is, when it made her select a language, we had to go through a 50 minute installation process. i looked back and realized she forgot to hold down c, so we are trying it again. i figured since we already went through the installation process twice already (we did this once before but after it was done installing i had to go to bed and have no idea what she did with it afterwards) we wouldn 't have to do it for a third time. well i looked it up and it says in the directions that there should be a blue arrow pointing to the right. it 's still not there. all it says is "continue ". i really dont want to have to wait 50 more minutes if it is not going to work. do we need to launch the computer normally first and do something with the dvd? i just don 't understand and none of my family members are very good with macs. please help!!! thank you in advance. Why Is My Macbook Pro Slow On The Internet Heeeelp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
Heyi used to own a sony vaio laptop (like a 1.8 dual core processor i think, 2gb ram, and 100gb hdd). it was really slow at running photoshop, premier pro etc, so i decided to upgrade to a macbook pro (2.4 processor, 2gb ram and 320gb hdd). its loads faster at running photoshop, etc. but the internet is really slow compared to my old laptop. it can 't seem to load pictures (like if i went onto google images and searched for something, none of the images will load, they will just be white squares.) if i went onto a video site none of the video preview square things will load. and some website won 't open, ill search for something and nothing will happen or will take a few minutes to load. anyone know why?i bought this macbook second hand, but is really good condition, hdd pretty much empty, running on lion. and my internet hasn 't gone slower because i just went onto my old laptop and the internet i still speedy :) just not on my macbook pro! :( i have used safari and firefox, and slow on both!any one know why? thanks (Read answers)

Problem With Wiping Macbook Pro's Hd Clean, Please Help?!?
I am trying to help a friend completely wipe out her macbook pro 's hard drive because she is selling it soon. she has the os x leopard dvd. she doesn 't remember if it was installed before we tried to do this or not, so that is my question... the first time we tried, we restarted the computer from the disk, but didn 't hold down c... problem is, when it made her select a language, we had to go through a 50 minute installation process. i looked back and realized she forgot to hold down c, so we are trying it again. i figured since we already went through the installation process twice already (we did this once before but after it was done installing i had to go to bed and have no idea what she did with it afterwards) we wouldn 't have to do it for a third time. well i looked it up and it says in the directions that there should be a blue arrow pointing to the right. it 's still not there. all it says is "continue ". i really dont want to have to wait 50 more minutes if it is not going to work. do we need to launch the computer normally first and do something with the dvd? i just don 't understand and none of my family members are very good with macs. please help!!! thank you in advance.
